Another loss for the Twins Wednesday afternoon as they fell in Cincinnati by a score of 2-1.
Minnesota had just four hits on the day, three of them singles and one of them a double for Brian Dozier. They simply couldn’t figure out Reds right-hander Johnny Cueto, who fired 8 innings of one-run ball while striking out 8.
Trevor May (4-7) took the loss for the Twins despite pitching 6 1/3 innings while allowing just one earned run.
Kennys Vargas had one of Minnesota’s hits, but after the game the Twins optioned him to Double-A Chattanooga.

Twins Daily says it could open the door for Miguel Sano to be called up, but a corresponding roster move hasn’t been made yet by the Twins.
Twins have some intriguing options on who will replace Kennys Vargas. Could be Oswaldo Arcia, Miguel Sano or even Max Kepler.
