The Twins released details today of pitcher Kevin Correia’snew contract.
It’s a two-year deal, in which he will make $4.5 million this coming season and $5.5 million in 2014.
GM Terry Ryan says he’s not done trying to rebuild Minnesota’s starting rotation.
He tells the Pioneer Press “there are still pitchers out there we like.”
That apparently includes 2012 washout Nick Blackburn, who was cut from the 40-man roster in August, but is owed $5.5 million by the Twins in 2013.
Ryan says he counting on Blackburn to “compete for a job” in spring training, adding that “we’ve got a lot invested in him.”
