Hold the phone on Bleacher Report’s story from Saturday about Adrian Peterson informing the Vikings he wants to be traded.
Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, citing sources, reports that Peterson has not asked for a trade.
“Sources also said Peterson hasn’t asked for a trade. One source said he remains willing to return to Minnesota even though he was disappointed with some reaction within the Vikings and in the community after he was indicted last September on a child-abuse charge. That source said a comment then by Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton that Peterson is a “public embarrassment” really hurt the running back.
“Sources said reports are inaccurate that the Texas native is seeking a trade to the Dallas Cowboys.”
ESPN’s Josina Anderson’s sources tell her the same: Peterson has not asked for a trade.
Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, citing his own sources, says Peterson would prefer to play for the Cowboys. Cole added that Minnesota has no intention of trading Peterson.
While the Vikings say they expect Peterson to play for them next season, the Star Tribune reports the team is putting a plan in place in case Peterson isn’t in purple in 2015.

Tomasson also reports that the team hasn’t approached Peterson about restructuring his contract. The former MVP is due to make $12.75 million next season, $14.75 million in 2016 and $16.75 million in 2017.
