He’s not bitter.
That’s the bottom line from Vikings defensive end Jared Allen, who told the Star Tribune earlier this month that he’d probably leave if the front office tried to restructure his contract and cut his pay.
Allen is entering the final year of a six-year, $73 million contract — with no extension in sight.
When asked about his comments on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday, Allen said that he didn’t mean to come off as sounding hostile.
“I love the Minnesota Vikings,” Allen said. “As far as where I’ll end up, I don’t know. I’m playing this year for this year. I want to win a Super Bowl as a Viking.”
