Perhaps not the biggest surprise in Minnesota sports news, but welcome nonetheless. Rick Adelman will return as the coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Who else but Sid Hartman has the scoop, getting Wolves owner Glen Taylor to confirm Sunday that the coach is coming back.
There never has been much doubt about Rick Adelman returning as Timberwolves coach,” writes Sir Sidney, “but it wasn’t for sure until he brought his coaching staff out to his home in Portland, Ore., last week and laid out the plans for this season.”
While his return was expected, nothing was certain, reports Bleacher Report. He missed 11 games last season while his wife underwent medical treatment and reportedly entered the offseason considering resigning from his post.
Adelman, according to ESPN, makes about $5 million annually on a contract that runs through the 2014-15 season.
