The Minnesota Twins fell to 0-8 in extra innings this season with a 5-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Saturday afternoon.
The Indians got on the scoreboard early with a two-run home run from Franmil Reyes in the first inning and Cleveland ran its lead up to 3-0 when Austin Hedges hit an RBI single in the second.
Despite the tough draw on the mound against Shane Bieber, the Twins began to rally with a sacrifice fly from Josh Donaldson in the third inning. Minnesota further chipped into the lead when Miguel Sanó launched his eighth home run of the season in the fourth.

Max Kepler led off the top of the sixth inning with a triple before Alex Kirilloff tied the game at 3 with an RBI single.

With Bieber and Kenta Maeda not getting past the sixth inning, the game turned into a battle of the bullpens. With both teams holding until the 10th inning, the Twins couldn’t advance Luis Arráez in the top half before Alex Colomé served up a walk-off homer to Cesar Hernandez.
With the loss, the Twins will look for the series victory on Sunday in Cleveland.
