The Minnesota Gophers hockey team survived a late scare with a 5-4 overtime victory over Ohio State in Columbus Friday night.
Justin Kloos scored the game-winner at the 3:25 mark in overtime to clinch the victory for Minnesota. It was Kloos’ second goal of the night, he also added an assist for a three point night.

Minnesota held a 4-3 lead after Tyler Sheehy scored with 2:45 to play to put the Gophers up. But, Ohio State tied it up with less than a second to play on a goal from Matt Weis.
The Gophers have won all three games over Ohio State in overtime this season. They wrap up the series on Saturday night in Columbus.
Bitzer shines as Beavers return to WCHA play with a win
Michael Bitzer stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced leading Bemidji State to a 2-1 victory over Lake Superior State, Friday night.
Brendan Harms broke a 1-all tie up in the third when he scored on a power play goal, putting the Beavers on top. It was his fifth goal of the season, Kyle Bauman assisted.
John Parker scored Bemidji’s other goal in the first period.
The series will wrap up on Saturday.
Mavericks skate to 3-all tie with Alabama Huntsville
Bryce Gervais scored at the 13:50 mark of the third period to even the score and help Minnesota State skate to a 3-3 tie with Alabama Huntsville.
It was Gervais’ second goal of the night. Jimmy Mullin and Teddy Blueger each had a pair of assists for Minnesota State.
Madison Dunn had a pair of goals for UAH.
The series continues on Saturday.
