Goaltender Eric Schierhorn stopped all 23 shots he faced to help lead the Gophers to a 4-0 victory over Northeastern. The effort secured the first win of the season for the Gophers.
Tommy Novak led the Gophers with a goal and an assist on the night. Jack Glover, Hudson Fasching and Tyler Sheehy all scored goals as well.

UMD, Notre Dame skate to 3-3 tie
Sixty-five minutes of hockey wasn’t enough to separate Minnesota Duluth and Notre Dame Friday night. They skated to a 3-3 tie in South Bend, Indiana.
The Bulldogs built a 2-0 lead in the first, but the Irish answered with two of their own in the second.
Austin Young gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead at the 5:27 mark of the third period, but just over two minutes later it was Notre Dame’s Sam Herr tying it back up again.
Irish goaltender Cal Petersen was really the story of the night. He made 39 saves to keep Notre Dame in the game.

A four goal second period lifted Quinnipiac to a 5-2 victory over St. Cloud State in a battle of unbeaten teams Friday night.
After St. Cloud took a 2-0 lead in the second, the Bobcats answered by stringing together five unanswered goals to move to 5-0 on the season.
Judd Peterson scored both goals in the St. Cloud loss.
Minnesota State picks up road win in Bemidji
Minnesota State Mankato beat Bemidji State 3-2 Friday in Bemidji.
Brad McClure and Teddy Blueger scored third period goals for the Mavericks to turn a two-goal deficit into a victory. Bryce Gervais added the other Maverick goal.
Brendan Harms had a pair of assists for the Beavers.
