The Minnesota Gophers bounced back from Thursday’s 6-2 loss to pick up a big 3-2 victory over Michigan Friday night at Mariucci Arena.
Hudson Fasching scored the game winner 57 seconds into overtime.
Vinni Lettieri had a goal and an assist for the Gophers. Leon Bristedt added Minnesota’s other goal.
Eric Schierhorn stopped 23 shots in net for Minnesota.
The crowd at Mariucci wasn’t what Minnesota is used to.

The University of Minnesota Duluth picked up a 4-1 victory over St. Cloud State Friday night in St. Cloud.
The Bulldogs took the early lead as they scored three goals in the first period. Brenden Kotyk, Karson Kuhlman and Adam Johnson helped the Bulldogs build the early lead.
Kuhlman added another goal in the third and an assist.
The teams combined for 80 shots on goal. Bulldogs goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo posted a career-high 44 saves.
The series will continue Saturday night in St. Cloud.

Bemidji State skated to a 1-all tie with Alabama-Huntsville Friday night.
Cory Ward tied the game up at the 7:34 mark of the third period. He was assisted by Brendan Harms and Phillip Marinaccio.
Michael Bitzer stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced.
The two teams will play again on Saturday in Bemidji.
