Jordan Gross had a pair of goals and Anders Bjork had a goal and an assist as Notre Dame beat the Gophers 4-3 Friday night.
Leon Bristdedt had a pair of goals in the loss for the Gophers.
The Gophers trailed 3-1 after the second, but tied it up at three within moments on goals by Bristdedt and Hudson Fasching.
But Gross put the game away with his second goal with less than two minutes to go.
Nebraska-Omaha sneaks by Bulldogs
The Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks took the opener of their weekend series with Minnesota Duluth, beating the Bulldogs 4-2 Friday night.
Brian Cooper scored his first goal of the season 24 seconds into the contest giving Nebraska-Omaha the early lead.
The Bulldogs hung around and trailed 3-2 until late in the third, when Jake Randolph’s empty-netter put the game away.
The series continues Saturday night in Omaha.
Mavericks fall to Ferris State
Minnesota State’s four-game winning streak was snapped Friday night in Big Rapids, Michigan. Ferris State beat the Mavericks 7-4.
A four goal third period was the difference-maker for the Bulldogs.
Sean O’Rourke had a pair of goals for Ferris State.
Casey Nelson had a goal and two assists to lead the Mavericks, while Bryce Gervais added a goal of his own.
The series continues on Saturday.
