Gophers beat Wolverines 3-2
After getting crushed by Michigan 8-3 Friday night, the Minnesota Gophers came back for a 3-2 win over the Wolverines Saturday night in Ann Arbor.
Eric Schierhorn made 33 to move to 7-8-0 on the season. The Gophers go into the break in sole possession of first place in the Big Ten Conference.
Vinni Lettieri and Jake Bischoff each picked up a goal and an assist, while Hudson Fasching also scored for Minnesota.
The Gophers have a few weeks off before hosting the 25th annual Mariucci Classic, Jan. 1-2, at Mariucci Arena. Joining Minnesota will be UConn, Ferris State and Harvard.
North Dakota sweeps UMD with another 3-0 win
North Dakota beat the Bulldogs 3-0 on Saturday night to complete the weekend sweep. The Fighting Hawks won by the same 3-0 score on Friday night at Amsoil Arena.
UND scored two goals on the power play, just 31 seconds apart, in the second period. They got an empty netter late in the game to seal the victory. The Bulldogs were -0-for-4 on the power play.
UND goalie Cam Johnson had 38 saves in the shutout performance.

The F'n Hawks are now 6-1 in AmsOil Arena with four shutouts, combined score of 27-8 in those games.

MSU beats Alabama Huntsville again
The Minnesota State Mavericks beat Alabama Huntsville 4-1 Saturday night to sweep their two-game series. MSU also won Friday night by a score of 2-1.
The Mavericks scored three goals in the second period and outshot the Chargers 41-15 to win their ninth straight game.
Junior forward Michael Huntebrinker scored two goals, while Jaden Schmeisser and C.J. Franklin each scored one.
Bemidji State swept by Bowling Green
Bowling Green shut out the Beavers 2-0 on Saturday night in Bemidji, completing the two-game sweep after a 4-1 victory on Friday night.
Bowling Green scored two goals in the second period to take the lead and then hung on in the third to preserve the win.
St. Cloud State beats Denver 6-2
The Huskies swept Denver with a convincing 6-2 victory on Saturday night in Denver. St. Cloud’s Kalle Kassila had a hat trick, with two goals in the second period and one in the third, while Joey Benik scored two goals. The Huskies also won Friday night 5-2.
