A pair of second period goals was all the Minnesota Gophers would need two win their seventh straight game on Friday night, beating Penn State 2-1.
Penn State took the early lead as David Goodwin beat Gopher goaltender Adam Wilcox in the first period to put the Nittany Lions up 1-0. But that’s all the home team would get off Wilcox, who shut the door the rest of the way, finishing with 35 saves.

The Gophers answered early in the second. Christian Isackson evened the score with a goal assisted by Jake Bischoff and Jack Glover.
Justin Kloos then put the Gophers on top less than three minutes later, he was assisted by Brady Skjei and Michael Brodzinski.

It was a pretty even game, with Penn State finishing with 36 shots on goal while the Gophers had 35.

The University of Minnesota Duluth picked up a 3-1 victory at Miami on Friday night, in a battle of a pair of top 10 teams in college hockey.
Kasimir Kaskisuo was outstanding in net, he stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced, and shut Miami in the second and third periods to lead the Bulldogs to the road victory.
Willie Cronin’s second goal of the season put the game away, pushing UMD’s lead to 3-1 with 4:29 to go.
Huskies takes down #5 Nebraska-Omaha
The St. Cloud State Huskies picked up a big NCHC win on Friday night, beating Nebraska-Omaha 4-3 on Friday night in St. Cloud.
St. Cloud trailed 3-2 with under four minutes left, but goals from Blake Winiecki and David Morley turned the tables on the Mavericks allowing the Huskies to pick up the victory.
Ethan Prow had a pair of goals in the game for St. Cloud.
The Huskies dramatically outshot UNO 39-26.
Bemidji State upends Alaska-Anchorage
Kyle Bauman had a pair of goals and Sam Windle had a pair of assists and Bemidji State picked up a 3-2 victory over Alaska-Anchorage on Friday night in Bemidji.
Charlie O’Conner’s 11th goal of the season at the 8:19 mark of the second period turned into the eventual game-winner for the Beavers.
