All of the lobbying done by Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck was for not as ESPN’s “College GameDay” announced Saturday morning that it will take it’s live show to Alabama next weekend.
Fleck and the Gophers were hopeful that the college football pregame show would come to Minnesota for the first time with the 13th-ranked Gophers hosting fellow undefeated Big Ten power, fifth-ranked Penn State, on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Instead, ESPN will take the show to Tuscaloosa for the Nov. 9 matchup between No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 LSU.
Here's part of @Coach_Fleck's energetic message to @CollegeGameDay.
After Fleck spoke at an ESPN event, @ReceDavis said the #Gophers would be on the map soon.

According to The Advocate, it’ll be the 11th time College GameDay will broadcast from a Alabama-LSU matchup, with the most recent happening last year in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Minnesota has never host the ESPN show, while Alabama has had them in Tuscaloosa 46 times. This also marks the third time this season LSU is either hosting or playing in a game from the broadcast location.
