Vikings great Chuck Foreman doesn’t like the NFL’s new rule disallowing running backs to hit defenders with the crown of their helmet.
Foreman believes the rule will be bad for Adrian Peterson, who is considered one of the most physical runners in the league. Foreman tells the Pioneer Press that it’s a “bad rule that will open Peterson up to more hits.”
Meanwhile, another former Viking is sticking up for quarterback Christian Ponder.
Warren Moon, who threw for over 4,000 yards in three straight years with the Vikings during the 1990s, thinks Ponder will be better off with Greg Jennings than he was with Percy Harvin because Jennings “is going to be more patient with Christian.”
