With his controversial letter to a Maryland lawmaker over the same-sex marriage debate as proof, we all know that Vikings punter Chris Kluwe can write — and now, he’s about to put together a collection of his unique thoughts in a book.
The Star Tribune reports that Kluwe has signed with Little, Brown and Company to publish “Beautifully Unique Sparkleponies,” which the publishing house says is collection of “hilarious, pointed and touching” essays.
Kluwe was one of the most high-profile local celebrities to come out in support of gay marriage in protest of the Minnesota Marriage Amendment, which aimed to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
He is still being lauded for his efforts, most recently appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show.
Kluwe hasn’t limited his writings to his gay rights advocacy. In November he penned an open letter to the NFL Hall of Fame, calling the organization “lazy” and “stupid” for not enshrining famed Oakland Raiders punter Ray Guy.
“Beautifully Unique Sparkleponies” is set to hit stored June 25. Kluwe and Little, Brown are also offering a limited edition signed bookplate of the release.
