The Minnesota Vikings will play the Steelers, Buccaneers, Raiders, Cowboys and Titans on the 2015 preseason schedule.
All 32 NFL teams learned their preseason schedule via a league-wide release on Thursday. Official dates and times for the games will be released at a later date, the Vikings say.
Minnesota is playing a fifth preseason game because they were selected to participate in the opening week of preseason football for the Hall of Fame Game against Pittsburgh (Aug. 9).
Here’s the full preseason slate:
- vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (Canton, Ohio)
- vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- vs. Oakland Raiders
- at Dallas Cowboys
- at Tennessee Titans
It’s the preseason, so there isn’t a lot of flavor to add to the story except for the facts that Leslie Frazier will return to Minnesota as defensive coordinator of the Bucs and Christian Ponder will be back at TCF Bank Stadium as a backup quarterback for the Raiders.
Naturally, the Vikings visit the Cowboys, who have been tied to about a gazillion trade rumors about Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
Adrian Peterson typically does not play preseason games. #Vikings 2015 preseason schedule: Aug. 28/29 at … wait for it … Dallas Cowboys

The best players play into the second half of the third preseason game, and #Vikings are at DALLAS that week. Funny, right? Hmm? #HesLoose
