Traffic headaches are expected in the Twin Cities area Thursday afternoon and evening because of heavy sports action in Minneapolis and the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul, Fox 9 reports.
The Twins will be the first game out of the gate at 12:10 p.m. at Target Field, which is expected to conclude about the same time rush hour begins.
And while some sports fans are departing downtown Minneapolis, others will be coming in for the Vikings game against the Titans at 7 p.m. at the Metrodome.
In between, fans will also be descending upon TCF Bank Stadium to watch the Gophers play UNLV at 6 p.m.
On top that, the State Fair is continuing in St. Paul.
According to the Star Tribune, Metro Traffic estimates Thursday will be its busiest traffic day of the year, and the agency is adding an extra 20 buses to routes to get fans to and from games. Northstar Commuter trains will also be in action for both the Twins and Vikings games, as will extra Blue Line light-rail trains.
The paper lists different driving and parking options for people who plan on attending any of the events.
