Carlos Correa delivered a go-ahead RBI single and Chris Paddack continued to stay hot on the mound as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Baltimore Orioles 2-1 on Monday night.
Correa came into the game on fire, going 10-for-18 with a double and .611 slugging percentage over his past four games. Although his streak of four straight multi-hit games came to an end, Correa found a way to make an impact in the sixth inning.
Byron Buxton led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a ground out by Luis Arraez. With the game tied at 1, Correa produced the big hit, driving in Buxton with a single to give the Twins the lead.

Correa’s heroics came in support of Paddack, who continued the Twins’ success on the mound. The right-hander threw 5.1 innings, allowing one run, four hits and a walk while striking out three batters before getting into trouble in the bottom of the sixth.
With two men on and one out, Joe Smith forced Ryan Mountcastle to ground into an inning-ending double play. The Twins bullpen took over from there with Griffin Jax, Emilio Pagan and Jhoan Duran throwing shutout innings, with Duran getting the save.
Ryan Jeffers also went 1-for-3 with an RBI single to help the Twins pick up their 10th win in the past 11 games.
