Vancouver Canucks 3
Minnesota Wild 2
The Minnesota Wild opened their busy Thanksgiving weekend with a 3-2 loss to Vancouver Wednesday night at Xcel Energy Center.
1. Vrbata’s big night leads Canucks
After the Wild took a 1-0 lead the Canucks responded with a pair of goals from Radim Vrbata. Vrbata’s first goal came near the end of the first period and the second came on the power play in the second period.

It proved to be enough as the Wild were not able to respond.
2. Vanek continues to lead the Wild in Parise’s absence
Thomas Vanek now has a team-leading nine goals on the season. His first-period goal was one of the few offensive highlights in a disappointing night for the Wild.
