Greg Jennings downplayed his recent remarks about Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers following Thursday’s training camp practice in Mankato.
Jennings implied last week that Rodgers was bigger than the team in Green Bay. His comments earned him a talk from Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier.
“I was on the field and Frazier ran over to me and asked me what I said. That was really the gist of it,” Jennings explained to the Star Tribune. “He said, `Keep it about our guys.’ Literally, that was it. I don’t really recall saying anything negative about Aaron or anyone over there, but, hey, I apologize.”
Jennings believes the media and Rodgers took his quips about Rodgers and the Packers out of context.
“Everything I say, I’m joking. I’m messing. I’m pulling Aaron’s arm. I mean if he doesn’t know that or you guys don’t know that, I played with the guy for seven years. I think he knows that.”
