The Minnesota Twins beat up on Toronto 12-2 in a spring training game today in Ft. Myers, Florida.
The Twins and Blue Jays were two of four clubs testing out instant replay on Monday.
The Star Tribune reports the first replay in major-league history took place in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday. Umpire Fieldin Culbreth ruled Toronto first baseman Jared Goedert’s foot was not on the bag as Chris Rahl crossed first base.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons challenged the call, but the after a 2:34 review Culbreth ruled the play should stand.

Baseball’s new replay rule will allow each manager to start the game with one challenge, if they win the challenge they will be awarded a second one. After the start of the seventh inning, the crew chief can also call for a review.
The new rules do not allow for the replay of ball and strike calls.
The game featured a well pitched effort from starter Kevin Correia. He pitched three shutout innings and only walked one.
Jermaine Mitchell homered and drove in four for the Twins. Eric Fryer also drove in three.
