Vikings corner Byron Murphy says he’ll direct Taylor Swift-related trash talk towards Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce this coming weekend when the Chiefs visit the Vikings.
Swift and Kelce are in a highly publicized relationship, with the Grammy award winner attending the previous two Chiefs games, leading to speculation that Swift could be on her way to U.S. Bank Stadium this weekend for Vikings-Chiefs.
When asked about all of the buzz surrounding the Swift-Kelce storyline, Murphy said, “Oh man, the social media is going crazy.”
“And I’m not hating against it,” Murphy continued. “That’s the world we’re living in. Is she going to come to this game? We’re locked in, but that would be something. I’ve been watching her since I was a kid.”
On his thoughts about Swift attending the game in Minneapolis, Murphy said: “That would be cool, for sure. Not for him, because we’re going to try to get our hands on him in front of her.”
“I’m going to say something to him to get him going,” said Murphy, in doing so dooming the Vikings defense to another Keenan Allen-like gashing.
Interestingly, the video of Byron Murphy’s locker availability on the team website does not include the Taylor Swift comments. Purple Insider’s Matthew Coller informed Bring Me The Sports it wasn’t a case of selective editing on the Vikings part, but rather the camera operator recording the session had moved on by that point.
