The Minnesota Vikings put together a very solid second half of football Thursday night against Washington, coming back from down 10 at the half against the Redskins to win by a touchdown.
Here are the numbers that help tell the story of a tale of two halves that took place last night.
0-6
After starting the game 9-for-10 on third down conversions, Washington failed to convert any of their final six third downs. At the height of their third down proficiency, their 9-for-10 mark brought Viking opponents visiting the Metrodome to a whopping 43-of-70 on third down conversions on the season, north of 61 percent. Clearly, the defense had enough and slammed the door.
2.5
Number of sacks for Kevin Williams Thursday night. It’s his first multi-sack game since 2009, his first sacks of the season, and more sacks than in his previous 24 games combined.
61
Number of receiving yards John Carlson had on the 2013 season before Thursday night. He racked up 98 of them against Washington, and had a career high in receptions with seven. Before the night began, he had just 22 catches in 22 games with the Purple.
