Derrick Rose has been traded by his hometown Chicago Bulls to the New York Knicks, ESPN is reporting.
- Knicks get: Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday, 2017 second-round pick
- Bulls get: Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant
The Chicago Tribune is already calling this deal a “once unthinkable” trade.
In 2012 the Bulls were the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and Rose was the MVP. He signed a huge contract and tore his ACL the same day. He’s played in only 127 games the past three seasons.
There’s already plenty of speculation about the Bulls now focused on building a team around Jimmy Butler, who has been involved in trade rumors with the Timberwolves.
