One night after snapping a 14-game losing streak, the Baltimore Orioles won their first series since early May with Wednesday night’s 6-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
The Twins got on the board early courtesy of a second-inning home run from Ryan Jeffers. After being called up for the injured Mitch Garver earlier in the day, Jeffers slugged a 441-foot blast to center to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead.

The Orioles tied the game on a throwing error by Nick Gordon in the fourth inning before Randy Dobnak allowed a two-run homer to DJ Stewart in the fifth to give Baltimore a 3-1 lead.
After Dobnak allowed three runs over 5.2 innings, the Twins turned to the bullpen, which went as well as you would expect.
Caleb Thielbar left the game with a groin strain in the seventh inning and Alexander Colomé served up a three-run home run to Ryan Mountcastle to put Minnesota down 6-1.
A Jeffers triple drove in Gordon to chip into the lead in the eighth and a Jorge Polanco sacrifice fly made it a 6-3 game. But Nelson Cruz popped out as the tying run and the Twins couldn’t come back to deny Baltimore its first series victory since taking two of three games from Seattle on May 3-5.
The Twins (22-33) will try to turn their road trip around when they open a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night.
