It’s a rare morning in Minnesota (lately) when there are no sports losses to lament. This is one of them:
1) The biggest victory came in the state Senate last night, when lawmakers sent to conference committee the Vikings stadium bill. The Purple — closer than ever to another publicly-financed playground.
2) Part of the weird atmosphere in St. Paul this week are the Vikings fans decked out in their various costumes. This slideshow, put together by MPR, rocks. Pioneer Press writer Joe Soucheray, however, says it reminds him of a Middle Earth gathering. Reminds us of a song:
3) Onto the Twins. Scott Diamond rocked last night, as Minnesota beat the Angels, 5-0. And to be completely honest, it’s about time a Minnesota starter didn’t urp on his shoes in the first two innings.
4) Another Twins newcomer, shortstop Brian Dozier, also had a nice game — with two hits and an RBI.
5)Cris Carter: Assassin! Well, maybe that’s going a little too far, but the ex-Vikings wide receiver says he put bounties out on players that would try to hurt him.
