Not ready to spend the rest of his life on the lakes fishing just yet, Minnesota Vikings defensive end Brian Robison announced Monday that he’s coming back for another season.
“If I’m taking photos in the new facility, then that can only mean one thing…….. I’m BACK!! So excited that sill be in Purple again this year,” Robison announced on Instagram.

The 2018 season will be Robison’s 12th in the NFL, all of them with the Vikings.
“We renegotiated, we restructured my contract,” Robison told KFAN on Tuesday morning. “I ended up taking a pay cut, but it was just one of those deals where it was the right decision for me and my family.”
“I’m about 90 percent sure this is going to be it,” he added.
The veteran pass rusher, who turned 35 in April, can still play up and down the defensive line, with his hand on the ground or as a stand-up rusher. More importantly, he’s still an effective situational player, proving so in 2017 as he started just one game but still finished with 4 sacks.

Robison started every game he played in from 2011-2016 before giving way to up-and-coming defensive end Danielle Hunter last season.
Another plus to Robison coming back is that it helps with defensive end depth as he joins Everson Griffen and Hunter as the only proven players, along with youngsters/rookies Jalyn Holmes, Stephen Weatherly, Ade Aruna, Tashawn Bower, Jonathan Wynn and Hercules Mata’afa.
Robison is the second oldest player on the team behind 39-year-old cornerback Terence Newman.
