Twins second baseman Brian Dozier will have an MRI on his sore hip.
The news was revealed during Twins general manager Terry Ryan’s postseason press conference Tuesday afternoon.
Ryan said the soreness is not considered to be serious and the MRI is precautionary, to make sure there’s nothing structurally wrong.
Other than that, Ryan said the Twins escaped the end of the season relatively healthy.
There are no offseason surgeries set for any Twins players. But Brian Dozier will have an MRI on his hip.

“I haven’t heard anything about this hip until the exit physicals, which is a good thing,” Ryan said Tuesday. “I think it’s just something he wants to make sure psychologically he doesn’t have any issue. This is to make sure there isn’t anything deeper to this thing than meets the eye.”
According to the Star Tribune, it was the only real issue that arose during the the players’ end-of-season physicals.
After a crazy surge near the end of the first half of the season that led to his first All-Star Game, Dozier slumped during the second half of the season.
The Pioneer Press notes that Dozier posted an on-base slugging percentage of .841 during the first part of the year. But that slumped to .639 after the break.
His on-base percentage also dropped from .328 to .280, while his slugging percentage dipped from .513 to .359.
Dozier hit just .197 after Sept. 1 in 30 games, and scored just 11 runs.
