Less than 48 hours after leaving a game due to dizziness, Brian Dozier was back to playing the role of hero in the Dodgers’ 4-3 win over the Giants on Wednesday night.
Dozier, who doubled and walked twice earlier in the game, drove in the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 12th inning to help the Dodgers snap a five-game losing streak.
Dozier left Tuesday’s game in the eighth inning after complaining of dizziness. He underwent an EKG test that showed abnormalities, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. Dozier was scheduled to undergo additional testing but was back in the lineup on Wednesday before playing the hero role on Thursday.
It was the seventh walk-off RBI in Dozier’s career. His sixth was a no-doubter grand slam to give the Twins a win over the Rays going into the All-Star break.
The Twins traded Dozier to Los Angeles on July 31, receiving three minor league prospects in return. The 31-year-old second baseman is hitting .255 with three homers, four doubles and 12 RBI in 14 games with the Dodgers.
