Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Brett Favre looked like he was coming out of retirement for a split second on Tuesday.
Favre had an Instagram post captioned: “A true champion sticks to his or her calling. I will be coming out of retirement and making my return to play in the NFL for the 2020 season. Stay tuned for more #news!”

But Favre didn’t blame his indecisive past for this one. Instead, he said his account was hacked, according to TMZ Sports.
The former Falcons, Packers, Jets and Vikings quarterback turns 50 in October and has been out of the NFL since his second and final season in Minnesota nearly a decade ago in 2010.
Favre will be remembered in Minnesota for first torturing the Vikings during his tenure with the uglier side of the border battle (Green Bay), and for his iconic 2009 campaign where he threw 33 touchdowns and helped the Vikings reach the NFC Championship Game.
Judging by Favre’s physique and love of the game, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him lace it up for another go. We’d certainly welcome it.
Here’s a video of him throwing the pigskin around in 2017. He could still break some fingers with that heater.
Had the G.O.A.T. Brett Favre out throwing today. I asked him to come out retirement to throw a pick to me. J/P cool guy… #TAT pic.twitter.com/FljsvBSIXh
