The Vikings won’t have to face arguably the best offensive player the Browns have on Sunday.
That’s because the Browns traded running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis for the Colts’ 2014 first-round draft pick.
It’s a stunning development considering Cleveland used the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft to select Richardson, who rushed for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie last season.
Richardson spoke with local reporters via a conference call on Wednesday morning, which makes the trade even more shocking.
To replace the 23-year-old Richardson, the Browns signed 31-year-old free agent, Willis McGahee.
This is nothing but good news for Vikings fans. Cleveland will be starting an aging running back and a third-string quarterback in Brian Hoyer.
