Multiple reports say the Golden Gophers have given head football coach P.J. Fleck a one-year contract extension.
The extension gives him another year of security through 2023. The Star Tribune reports that the Board of Regents approved the extension and it should be finalized on Friday.
Fleck signed a five-year, $18 million contract that began in 2017 and originally ran through 2021, but after a 5-7 finish during his first season he was given a one-year extension to keep him until 2022.
In two seasons under the 38-year-old coach, the Gophers are 11-13 overall with a 5-13 record in the Big Ten.
