For the second straight game the Timberwolves scored 101 points — and for the second straight game it wasn’t enough to win.
The Charlotte Bobcats beat the struggling Timberwolves Saturday in Charlotte, 102-101, the Pioneer Press reports.
The Wolves appeared to have secured the win until Charlotte’s Gerald Henderson hit a desperation 3-pointer with 4.6 seconds left to take the lead.
Charlotte was the NBA’s second-worst team in the league going into the game. On Friday, the Wolves lost to the league’s worst team, the Washington Wizards, 114-101.
On Saturday, Luke Ridnour led the Wolves with 22 points, followed by J.J. Barea with 19.
Ricky Rubio scored 14 and played just over 29 minutes — a couple minutes shy of the season high 31 minutes he played Friday.
The Wolves dropped to 17-24 with the loss.
The Wolves return to Target Center Wednesday to take on the Los Angeles Clippers.
