The Timberwolves fell behind early and never really had a chance Wednesday night, falling to the Portland Trail Blazers 116-91 in Portland.
It was the Wolves 15th loss in their last 17 games. Minnesota looked like an injury-depleted team playing on the second night of a back-to-back road trip, as they weren’t good on either end of the floor.
LaMarcus Aldridge had a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Blazers, while Damon Lillard scored 17 points and dished out six assists.
Portland built a commanding 55-36 lead after the first half, and never really backed off the gas.
On the other hand, the Wolves shot just 38 percent and couldn’t keep up from the three-point line. Minnesota hit just 3-of-11 from deep, compared to Portland’s 12-of-33.
Andrew Wiggins scored a game-high 29 points, while Zach LaVine scored 18 points and dished out six assists. Kevin Martin also finished with 17 points.
The road trip continues on Friday night in Los Angeles as the Wolves (16-62) will face the Lakers.
