The Timberwolves haven’t been in the playoffs since losing to the Lakers in the 2004 Conference Finals, but The Ringer’s Bill Simmons is sure that the Wolves’ 12-year playoff hiatus will end next season.
“Minnesota has (Karl-Anthony) Towns who will be a top 10 player this year,” Simmons said on The Ringer NBA Show. “They have depth. They have a trade to make. They’re very athletic and they have a great coach (Tom Thibodeau) – they have a top 5 coach. And I do not see a scenario where he doesn’t make the playoffs.
“And either (Ricky) Rubio is going to be awesome, or they’ll flip him.”
