The Minnesota Wild snapped its 16 game losing streak in Dallas with an explosive, 7-4 win over the Stars Monday night.
Zach Parise scored twice while Mikko Koivu, Matt Cullen, Kyle Brodziak, Dany Heatley and Pierre Marc-Bouchard added goals. Brodziak’s goal was shorthanded — and proved to be the game-winner. It was Minnesota’s first shorthanded goal of the season.
Minnesota trailed by a goal three times in the game, but responded to tie the score shortly after falling behind each time. Cullen’s goal, his fifth of the season gave the Wild a 4-3 lead late in the second period.
Dallas tied the game midway through the third, but the Wild exploded for three goals in the final 7:22 of the game.
At 19-10-2, the Wild is in first place in the Northwest Division and has the fifth most wins in the NHL.
