Not many people are picking the Gophers to contend in the Big Ten this season, but one Big Ten Network analyst has advice for a few teams slated to play Minnesota: Watch out.
Tom Dienhart went through every Big Ten team’s schedule and found one game that he thinks has the best chance for an upset. For Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin, Dienhart thinks Minnesota is primed and ready for upsets.
Why? Dienhart recognizes that Iowa has lost three of its last four games in Minnesota; Nebraska will be beat up after back-to-back games against Wisconsin and Ohio State; the Gophers are simply “due” to beat the Badgers after 12 straight losses.
As for the Gophers, Dienhart says Oregon State poses a significant threat in the Sept. 1 season opener in Minneapolis.
