Winnipeg Jets 3
Minnesota Wild 5
The Minnesota Wild beat Winnipeg 5-3 Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
1. Thomas Vanek’s ‘silky’ moves
Wild forward Thomas Vanek has always been known for his ability to score some highlight-reel goals, and he didn’t disappoint on Tuesday night.
He finished with a pair of goals on the night, and both are certainly worth a second look.

2. Four-goal second period breaks it open
Vanek’s two goals along with a shorthanded goal from Erik Haula and Chris Porter’s first goal in a Wild sweater took what was a 1-1 game and blew it wide open for Minnesota.
3. Folin, Spurgeon, Prosser step up in Scandella’s absence
The Wild were without one of their best defenders with Marco Scandella away from the team for personal reasons, but they had three defensemen step up in Scandella’s absence.
Jared Spurgeon had two assists, while Christian Folin and Nate Prosser each added one on the night.
