If you recall a few weeks back, the Twins began what some described may be a roster purge by outrighting five players to Triple A Rochester.
Since then, Minnesota has not made any significant roster moves, so the so-called “purge” has not necessarily gone into full effect, at least not yet.
In a follow up item, four of those five players have chosen free agency, with the other, Cole De Vries, having to wait until five days after the World Series in order to possibly do the same.
Those four players, pitchers Shairon Martis and Josh Roenicke, infielder Doug Bernier, and outfielder Clete Thomas are free to sign with any team they wish once free agency opens after the World Series.
Just a quick note to keep you in the loop, try not to miss Bernier’s .214 batting average too much.
