Most Vikings fans dislike Aaron Rodgers more than any quarterback on the planet.
Jay Cutler is going to move way up that list if what Brandon Marshall told the Chicago Sun Times is true.
According to Marshall, Cutler told his teammates in the huddle before the drive that the Vikings were going to give the game to the Bears.
That’s supreme confidence from a quarterback who tossed a pair of interceptions and fumbled a ball that Brian Robison scooped up and scored on. It’s that kind of arrogance that is going to make Vikings fans hate Cutler more than they already do.
Regardless, Cutler hit tight end Martellus Bennett for the game-winning touchdown with just 10 seconds left in the game.
Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier took most of the blame for the loss, but noted there was a defensive breakdown on the winning play.
“Kind of got away from some things that we would ordinarily do in that situation,” Frazier said. “That’s nothing to do with our coaches, that’s more to do with me because that’s something if it’s our offense, our special teams, I’m on the headset saying, ‘Let’s do this, let’s do that, whatever.’ I could have helped with some strategy there.”
With all of the confusion before the snap, Frazier told the Pioneer Press that he would take a timeout if he could do it over again.
Chris Cook was the cornerback covering Bennett on the final touchdown. He said a “few guys were off” on the play — meaning they were out of position.
