Lance Louis, the Chicago guard hit by Jared Allen during an Antoine Winfield interception return Sunday, will miss the rest of the season because of a knee injury.
Bears coach Lovie Smith said the hit was unnecessary, claiming Louis was blindsided by Allen. But the Vikings defensive end Vikinclaims the contact was legal, telling the Pioneer Press that “I never intentionally try to hurt anybody.”
Louis’ left leg buckled as he hit the ground. Allen wasn’t penalized, but he could face a league fine later this week.
