Sunday was a mixed bag for the Gopher women’s basketball team, who lost 114-106 against Michigan State.
There was a very big silver lining, however: standout guard Rachel Banham, who was been on fire in this and other recent games, scored 52 points and became the Big Ten’s all-time leading scorer.

You can hear her thoughts on the Big Ten record below:
Banham’s 52-point effort is her latest marvel in a string of monster games. Two weeks ago she tied an NCAA Division I women’s record by scoring 60 points, and she followed that up with a 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat Iowa.
Her last two shining moments caught the attention of Lakers star Kobe Bryant, and her effort on Sunday was no different. When Kobe caught wind of her 52-point outburst, he simply said, “she can do it all.”
