After missing seven games with a concussion, Keith Ballard returned to the ice Nov. 1 to log two assists for the red hot Wild.
Ballard would add another assist last night in Minnesota’s 5-1 win over Calgary, but his inability to stay on the ice this year reared its ugly head again today, as it was announced Ballard sustained an upper-body injury last night, and will miss Minnesota’s next two games.
Coach Mike Yeo calmed nerves saying that the injury has nothing to do with his concussion, and that he doesn’t believe it will take long for Ballard to return to the ice.
Ballard didn’t miss a game in four of his first five seasons in the NHL, but missed 52 regular season contests in three seasons with Vancouver, his most recent stop before debuting for Minnesota this year.
The Wild have won six of seven and are on the road tomorrow at Washington and Saturday at Carolina. Their next home game is next Wednesday, when Ballard may return.
