Many teams are one injury away from catastrophic disaster, and often, that injury is at quarterback.
Mark the Green Bay Packers down in that category, and the injury as a broken clavicle for QB Aaron Rodgers.
With the performance of Seneca Wallace in relief of Rodgers Sunday, an underwhelming 11-of-19 outing in which he threw an interception, its not surprising to see Green Bay look elsewhere to fix their current superstar-less situation.
Where you ask? How about giving a familiar face a shot at the job, QB Matt Flynn, who spent four years with Green Bay. Multiple reports say that is who they’ll work out, despite Flynn having been released twice in a month.
Flynn got a big contract to go to Seattle after the 2011 season in which he appeared in just two games for Green Bay. One of those though, was a six touchdown performance, capturing the imagination of general managers everywhere that needed a solution at quarterback.
Seattle appeared to be one of those, but Russell Wilson stepped up and took the starting job from Flynn, and has been fantastic since taking over.
Still, despite three failed stops in the last 24 games, Flynn may get another shot with the green and gold depending on how the workout goes.
