Back-to-back 10th inning home runs from the Boston Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 2-1, Wednesday at Fenway Park.
Trailing 1-0, with one out in the tenth, former Twins slugger David Ortiz crushed a solo homer, off of Casey Fien, into the right field stands to even the score. It was Ortiz’s fifth home run against the Twins in six games, this season.
Mike Napoli then followed it up with a solo home run of his own to seal the Twins fate.

The Red Sox swept the series against the Twins, despite scoring just five runs total, in it. Minnesota could manage just two, and hit just .115 for the three-game set, at Fenway.
It was another intense, low-scoring, one-run game.
The Twins struck first in the tenth, Chris Parmelee hit a solo home run to break the scoreless tie and give the Twins a one-run lead.
But Fien, on in place of an unavailable Glen Perkins, couldn’t hold it in the 10th.
For the third straight game though, the Twins wasted an outstanding start from their starting pitcher, this time it was Kyle Gibson. Gibson held the Red Sox to one hit, through seven shutout innings. He struck out eight, but still didn’t factor in the decision.
Fien blew the save, and was tagged with the loss, Boston reliever Koji Uehara picked up the win.
The Twins start a three-game series with Chicago at Target Field on Thursday, in a game that will feature the Major League debut of Yohan Pino.
