Miguel Sano hit a 2-run homer to give the Twins a 4-1 lead midway through Saturday’s game in Oakland, but it was Rajai Davis who stole the show.
Davis, who hit a dramatic home run for the Indians in last year’s World Series, clubbed a Taylor Rogers pitch over the center-field wall for the game-winning 2-run homer in the bottom of the ninth.

“Those are tough. That’s three games this trip we haven’t been able to close out,” manager Paul Molitor said. “And it just goes to show you, you can’t take for granted the value of outs late in games and people who can handle that. And Rogers has been really good. He’s had a little bit of a rough trip here [lately].”
The Twins are now a season-high seven games behind the Indians for first place in the AL Central. They’re also four games behind the Royals for the second Wild Card spot.
