Gary Trent Jr., who recently transferred from Apple Valley high school to finish his high school career in Nevada, announced his top 5 schools of choice for next year and the Gophers are not one of the them.
The five-star recruit has narrowed his decision to five schools: Kentucky, Arizona, Duke, Michigan State and UCLA. Trent’s decision is similar to what current Timberwolves guard and former Apple Valley standout Tyus Jones did.

Jones who was also a five-star recruit, didn’t pick the Gophers either a few years back and opted for Duke University although he did have the University of Minnesota on a list of schools he was considering.
Trent is the son of former Timberwolves forward Gary Trent.
