Because the NFL is rigged (just kidding) the Vikings will open the 2017 season against Adrian Peterson and the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 11 from U.S. Bank Stadium.
In a sit down interview with John DeShazler of Saints.com, Peterson said he plans to drop 150-200 yards against the defense he’s been practicing against for the past ten years.

“It’s going to be fun to go against those guys,” Peterson said. “So I can let them know when I was doing that talking telling them hey, I’ll hit you guys for 150-200 yards, I wasn’t just doing just talking; they’ll see.”
Minnesota’s all-time leading rusher appeared in just three games last season and rushed for a season high of 31 yards against Green Bay in Week 2.
The last time he rushed for over 150 yards was November of 2015 against the Atlanta Falcons. Two weeks before that, Peterson rushed for over 200 against the Oakland Raiders. So it’s been awhile.
Although the Vikings had one of the better defenses in the league last season, they did surrender 106 yards per game on the ground in 2016.
Regardless, you can bet that Harrison Smith, Anthony Barr, Danielle Hunter and others will be licking their chops to bring down their former teammate.
