Former Minnesota Vikings safety Anthony Harris said goodbye to the team in an Instagram post on Saturday after signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
“It’s been hard deciding how or where I wanted to start, so I figured I’d start with thank you,” Harris said in the post. “…The memories I’ve had with you all on and off the field are ones I’ll never forget and will forever be grateful for.”

Harris came to Minnesota as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia in 2015. He spent six years with the Vikings, where he became one of the best safeties in the NFL and leading the league with six interceptions in 2019.
The Vikings attempted to work out a long-term deal with Harris last offseason after applying the franchise tag on the 29-year-old but were unable to work out a deal.
With Harris heading to Philadelphia, it creates a hole in the Vikings’ secondary. While the Vikings still have Harrison Smith, the second safety spot currently belongs to Josh Metellus.
The Vikings have been linked to Keanu Neal in free agency, but could also use a draft pick to fill Harris’ spot in the defense.
