The Minnesota Timberwolves have created plenty of buzz with the news that the team could be sold to Marc Lore and former MLB slugger Alex Rodriguez.
The sale will infuse the Timberwolves with some star power in the front office but that appears to be lost on Anthony Edwards.
During his media availability after the Timberwolves’ loss to the Nets on Tuesday, the Timberwolves’ Rookie of the Year candidate was asked if he was a fan of Rodriguez, who enjoyed a 22-year career in the majors, growing up.

After asking if Rodriguez was a fan, Edwards was told by The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski that he was a baseball player. This lead to a brutally honest moment from the 19-year-old.
“Yeah, nah,” Edwards said. “I don’t know who that is…I know he’s fixin’ to be the owner. But I don’t know nothing about baseball.”
Edwards’ answer is understandable considering Rodriguez debuted with the Seattle Mariners in 1994 — seven years before Edwards was born.
Fortunately, Edwards’ answer didn’t land him in hot water. Upon hearing the response, Rodriguez took to Instagram to introduce himself.
Edwards responded quickly to greet Rodriguez saying “What’s up my dude?” If fans have it their way, it’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship that will take place in Minnesota.
